Noticed Ubers frequently stopping at a vacant house down the street to drop off tourists with suitcases? Wanna check whether the owner has converted it to a Short Term Rental (STR)? Start by visiting the map of active STRs to look for its marker.

Clicking a blue dot reveals owner contact info, in case you need to notify them about litter, noise, hazards, upkeep, damage, etc.

If you observe a dwelling being offered for short-term (30 days or less) occupancy without a current permit or visible placard, or want to report unsafe conditions, etc., visit the STR Complaint Website or call the 24/7 hotline at (504) 788-2008.

The complaint form asks for the property address, a URL to its online rental listing (if any), additional complaint details, as well as your contact info in case more details are needed. Check Yes/No to indicate whether you are willing to testify to the information provided.
To research properties not included on the map, visit onestopapp.nola.gov and type the address at the top. Click "Search" to list any associate permits and look for "Short Term Rental"; missing, revoked or expired entries warrant further scrutiny.
NOTE: Every rental unit must also have a current "Healthy Homes" certification on file, with a separate system for reporting violations.
